Kot’s Tenement House

This historic 17th-century building is decorated with motifs from the works of Andrzej Kot – a native of Lublin whose works can be found in museums in Tokyo or Budapest. His surname in polish means “cat”. The cats made in the sgraffito technique refer both to characteristic decorations of other tenements of the Old Town and to the artist’s works. During his lifetime Andrzej Kot worked in the neighbouring building.
