The Polish Legionnaires’ Cemetery was established in 1915. 128 Polish legionaries and 108 soldiers of Austrian origin, who died in the Battle of Jastków, were buried there. The battle was fought between the Austrian troops, which included the 1st Brigade of the Polish Legions and the 4th Infantry Regiment of the Polish Legions, and the retreating Russian troops.
