The Old Jewish Cemetery

The old Jewish cemetery was established in the middle of the 16th century. In accordance with Jewish tradition, the necropolis was located on a hill. During the German occupation of Lublin, the Nazis desecrated most of its graves. The cemetery nowadays consists of 60 matzevot (Jewish gravestones), one of which marks the burial place of Jakub Icchak Horowitz, the Seer from Lublin.
