The Dominicans have written themselves on many pages of Lublin’s history. One of the legends says that during the great fire, thanks to their prayers and the procession with the relics of the Holy Cross, the sky sent rain. It is commemorated by the painting “The Fire of Lublin in 1719” placed in one of the 11 beautifully decorated chapels of the basilica.
