Zawieprzyce used to be frequently visited by King John III Sobieski. During one of his visits, he planted a linden tree in the castle park, which was knocked down by lightning some 300 years later. And although today a daughter of John III Sobieski’s linden tree grows there, grown from a side branch of the historic tree, it still pleases the eyes of the inhabitants and prompts conversations about the history of the municipality.
