Old Town in Łęczna

The history of Łęczna began in the 14th century and over the centuries it was accompanied by numerous historical events, of which the buildings preserved to this day are a reminder. In Łęczna today we can see as many as three market squares – one of them was the main square of the town, while two others were created to facilitate daily trade and during the many fairs that took place here. The town also has two synagogues – a large one from the 17th century and a small one from the 19th century – and the remains of a Jewish cemetery.
