In the area of the municipality of Mełgiew, surface waters include both natural watercourses in the form of rivers (flowing waters) and artificial ones in the form of ponds (standing waters). In addition, there are two ponds in the area of the commune in the villages of Mełgiew and Krępiec. The total area of the ponds is approximately 6.36 hectares. Numerous angling competitions are held on the ponds. They are also an excellent place to relax by the water.
