Świdnik is one of the youngest cities in the region – it was granted city status in 1954 – to be a typically socialist city. This is reflected in the centre, which presents exemplary architecture of the Socialist Realist era. Monumental edifices and buildings with a high ground floor, symmetry and buildings that are strict in form are just some of the features one can notice when walking around Świdnik.
